Yes, I am a nerd and I’m rather proud of it. Nowadays nerd is not something bad, not among adults at least. We embrace the nerdiness.
I am 42 years old and my house is full of Lego. I have more Lego now than I ever had as a child. I didn’t really like Lego as a child actually. I liked playing games, but there was not nearly as many solo games back then. And Hungry Hippos is NOT a fun game to play solo. Even if you play with both hands and both feet and almost make it feel like you’re four players. Also, if I would try to do that now – I would seriously injure something.
So, when I look for games I often look for games with solo options. I like it when games have like an opponent, an automata or some evil rat (like in Everdell) and I really enjoy journaling games (Thousand Year Old Vampire or Be A Cat for instance).
I side tracked, my house is full of Lego and I really love Lord Of The Rings, and now, they’re releasing Minas Tirith. Almost 9000 pieces. And it’s large, so large that I think I will have to relocate my 3D-printer to the closet, where I would have to bring it out each time I print something. Which isn’t that often if I’m being honest since I most often print inserts to my board games, and, once they’re there, they’re there so to speak.
Well, Minas Tirith is a must, since I have Rivendell, Bilbos house and Barad Dur, perhaps I need to move to a larger house?
And also, if you have some solo games to recommend, please do!
